Coimbatore’s ₹208.5 Crore Semmozhi Classical Language Park Now Open!!

The newly developed Semmozhi Classical Language Park in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, has been opened to the public from December 11, 2025. The 45-acre cultural and botanical park, constructed at a cost of ₹208.50 crore, was inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on November 25.

Designed to highlight Tamil’s classical language identity, the Semmozhi Park features multiple themed gardens showcasing native plants referenced in ancient Tamil literature. Visitors can explore landscaped walking paths, cultural activity zones, curated plant collections, and QR-enabled information boards placed across the park.

The park aims to offer both a green recreational space and an educational experience centered on Tamil heritage. Amenities for families and fitness enthusiasts, along with dedicated learning spaces, have been included as part of the project.

The park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Entry charges are fixed at ₹15 for adults and ₹5 for children below 10 years, while regular walkers can opt for a ₹100 monthly pass.
