திருவண்ணாமலையில் மலையேற்ற அனுமதி குறித்து எழுந்த கேள்விகளுக்கு அமைச்சர் முக்கியமான விளக்கத்தை வழங்கினார். இதுவரை திருவண்ணாமலையில் மலைச்சரிவு ஏற்பட்டதில்லை என்றும், கடந்த ஆண்டுதான் முதல்முறையாக சரிவு ஏற்பட்டதாகவும் அவர் தெரிவித்தார். அந்த நிகழ்வுக்குப் பிறகு ஐஐடி நிபுணர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டு, மலைப்பகுதி முழுவதும் ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட்டது. ஆய்வில் மண்ணின் உறுதித்தன்மை குறைவு இருப்பதாகவும், பாதுகாப்பு முன்னெச்சரிக்கையாக பக்தர்களை மலையேற அனுமதிக்க வேண்டாம் என்று நிபுணர்கள் பரிந்துரைத்ததாகவும் அமைச்சர் கூறினார். தற்போது திருவண்ணாமலையில் மழை பெய்து வருவதால் நிலைமை குறித்து அதிகாரிகள் தொடர்ந்து கண்காணித்து வருகின்றனர். தீபத்திருநாளில் மழை பெய்யுமா என்பது தெளிவாக தெரியாத நிலையில், அந்நாளில் நிலவும் ஈரப்பதம் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு சூழ்நிலை அடிப்படையில் மட்டுமே பக்தர்கள் மலையேற அனுமதிக்கப்படுமா இல்லையா என்ற முடிவு எடுக்கப்படும் என அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார்.

Yesterday, prices fell by Rs. 140 per gram and Rs. 1,120 per sovereign, bringing the rates down to Rs. 11,400 per gram and Rs. 91,200 per sovereign.
